Nick Robison

Pastor

  • Pastor Nick was born and raised in Mississippi and considers both Raymond and Louisville his hometown. After high school, he attended Mississippi State University, where he earned a degree in Marketing. Although raised in the church, Nick became what he calls a “reluctant atheist” during college until 2011, when the Lord graciously revealed the mercies of Christ to him. From that point forward, the Scriptures became very precious to him, and through them, he developed a love for teaching God's Word to others. After consulting with pastors, Nick left his job in banking and began pursuing a call to ministry. In 2017, he graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS.

Since then, Nick has served as a Bible teacher at Christian schools in both Hattiesburg, MS, and Huntsville, AL. He also served as an assistant pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Huntsville. In 2023, Nick was called to serve as pastor of Salem Presbyterian Church, where he has the undeserved privilege of ministering the grace of Christ each week to this wonderful congregation.

In 2018, Nick convinced Hilary Herring—against her better judgment—to become his wife. Together, they have been blessed with a joyful life and three precious children: Mac, Marlo, and Annelise. In his spare time, Nick enjoys taking his family to the Memphis Zoo, going on date nights with Hilary, Bar-B-Queuing, fishing, and being slowly tortured to death by the Dallas Cowboys.

Welcome From Our Pastor

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to visit our website! We are so glad you have taken an interest in Salem. We are a church that, above all else, delights in worshipping our Triune God, who has revealed Himself and His love for His people through His beloved Son and our precious Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

By God’s grace, we seek to conform all of our lives—especially our worship and beliefs—to what God has revealed to us in His holy, inerrant, and inspired Word. This means that our church life revolves around the “ordinary means of grace,” through which Christ, who is the substance of grace, is made known to His people. These means of grace are the Word of God as it is both read and preached; the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which are nothing other than the Word of God made visible; and finally, our prayers, which we offer both privately and communally through public confessions of sin and the singing of Psalms and hymns. Through these means, God’s people are given the grace to believe in Christ as He is presented to them and to be conformed more and more into His image.

We are also a confessional church who believes that the Westminster Confession and Catechisms are an accurate and time honored summary of what the Bible principally teaches about God and His sovereign work of saving sinners.

Since we believe that we are undeserving sinners who have been saved by God’s sovereign grace, we are resolved to be a people defined by the character of grace. This means loving and caring for one another as members of a family who have, one and all, been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, all while sharing our hope with our community as Christ seeks His wandering lambs through us.

You are warmly invited to join us for worship this next Lord’s Day! It would be our delight to have you with us. If you have any questions concerning Salem, please do not hesitate to reach out.

In Christ,

Pastor Nick
